Toronto
Arrive in Toronto and get your car rental for the next few days, then make your way to your city centre hotel accommodation. Toronto is Canada's fashionable and fast-paced city that attracts people from around the world. This results in a multicultural flare for dining at restaurant patios and perusing the many markets for foods and mementos. Torontonions have great pride in their city as street parties break out for hockey and basketball moments. The numerous museums each have a unique focus or feature like European Chateaus (Casa Loma), Islamic civilizations (Agha Khan), and even shoes (Bata Shoe Museum). Locals also cherish the natural areas to escape to such as the Toronto Islands
Overnight: Toronto
Drive approximately 2 hours to Niagara on the Lake where we highly recommend taking a stop at the crashing Niagara Falls – known around the world. Once checked into your hotel, enjoy the many dining options in the area, including The Old Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar – a restored winery that serves authentic Tuscan-inspired food and woodfired pizza.
Overnight: Niagara-on-the-Lake
Today, the winter winery getaway begins by visiting a stunning vineyard, featuring many varieties of wine including ice-wine - dessert wine produced from grapes that have been frozen while still on the vine. Explore Reif Estate Winery, one of the original vineyards in the region with an ice-wine tasting experience. Try the iconic Canadian drink on its own, in a cocktail, paired with cheese or dessert, or even in your dessert! The winery is also home to some of the oldest vinifera plantings in Canada, a benefit to growers in cooler climates like Ontario, as mature vines ripen earlier. Enjoy an evening of leisure at Niagara on the Lake with a large selection of places to dine.
Overnight: Niagara-on-the-Lake
Enjoy another afternoon of wine tasting at the Grande estate of Chateau Des Charmes with approximately 120 acres of vineyards. Château des Charmes was founded in 1978 by Paul Bosc, a fifth-generation French winegrower. Cozy around a fire table and sample a flight of 3 wines while wrapped up in a take-home Château des Charmes blanket. This outdoor wine-tasting experience finishes with a delicious, mulled wine that is sure to warm you up. Take in an evening of leisure at Niagara on the Lake. We recommend bundling up and taking a stroll through the tree-lined avenues of Niagara on the Lake past 1700-era buildings or alternatively shopping in town at the boutique shops.
Overnight: Niagara-on-the-Lake
After a relaxed morning at leisure, drive 240 km back to Toronto to return your rental car.
