Day 1 - Whitehorse

Canada’s Yukon is a legendary land renowned for its Klondike Gold Rush history, pristine wilderness, and natural phenomenas like the midnight sun and the northern lights. The territory is filled with wildlife, mighty heritage rivers, and a vibrant arts and culture scene that captures the spirit of the north. Today, take advantage of your free day to explore the captivating city of Whitehorse, the vibrant heart of this extraordinary region.

Day 2 - Whitehorse

In the late morning, you will discover the historic and trendy sights of Whitehorse on a city tour. Visit the SS Klondike National Historic Site, one of the last grand paddle wheelers to navigate the Yukon River until the 1950s. Explore the Old Log Church, the oldest building in Whitehorse, and marvel at the unique Log Cabin Skyscraper, a three-story tower entirely constructed from logs. After taking in these iconic sights, enjoy a leisurely stroll along Main Street, perfect for shopping, visiting galleries, and relaxing in cozy cafés.

Day 3 - Kluane National Park Full Day Tour & Aurora Viewing

On this tour, you'll explore the magnificent Kluane National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. You will visit the scenic Kathleen Lake and take a short hike at the Rock Glacier, where you'll be treated to stunning views of the surrounding lakes and mountains. Vsiting the historic indigenous Klukshu Village, where you may witness wild salmon reaching their spawning grounds. In Haines Junction, we'll visit the Da Ku Cultural Centre to delve into the rich history of Kluane National Park, home to the largest non-polar ice field. For the aurora viewing, the air is as crisp as the night sky is dark. The city's noise is a distant memory, leaving you in a serene, peaceful setting. Suddenly, the sky comes alive with shimmering shades of green, blue, and red, dancing in a mesmerizing display. This is no ordinary light show; it's the Aurora Borealis, the most breathtaking natural spectacle in the North. Our Northern Lights Viewing Tour combines premium comfort with an immersive Aurora experience. Enjoy hot chocolate and roast marshmallows over a campfire at our authentic, heated Aurora Basecamp outside the city. Throughout the evening, we’ll share fascinating information about the Northern Lights and offer tips on aurora photography to help you capture this stunning phenomenon. We'll pick you up from your hotel in Downtown Whitehorse and drive you to our heated Aurora Basecamp, just 25 minutes away. After a magical night, we'll return you to your accommodations around 2:00 AM.

Day 4 - Yukon Wildlife Preserve & Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs

Embark on an unforgettable adventure at the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, where you'll encounter some of Canada's most iconic animals in their natural habitats. Marvel at the impressive antlers of the caribou, observe the curious muskoxen, and get up close with the majestic elk. After being captivated by the wildlife of the North, unwind at the Eclipse Nordic Hot Springs. Surrounded by stunning natural scenery, you can soak in the soothing hot springs while enjoying breathtaking mountain views. The serene and peaceful atmosphere, combined with the therapeutic benefits of the mineral-rich water, offers a truly rejuvenating experience. Please remember to bring your swimsuit, trunks, and a towel. We will pick you up from your hotel at 1 p.m. and head to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, with beverages and snacks served halfway. We will return you to your Whitehorse hotel around 6:30 p.m.

Day 5 - Depart Whitehorse

After checking out of your Whitehorse hotel, your unforgettable Yukon adventure will come to an end. You may choose to spend some additional time exploring the charming city of Whitehorse or begin your journey home, taking with you the memories of breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, and the mesmerizing Northern Lights.

What is the average age of passengers for this tour?

Our tours are suitable for all age demographics. The average age of travelers is typically 45+

I am a solo traveler. Is there a single surcharge?

There are options for single travelers to join most tours. Solo Travelers can choose to pay the single supplement and have their own room throughout the tour. For those willing to share, we also have a Twin Share option that is offered for the majority of our tours. This means you will be sharing the hotel rooms with another single, same gender traveller who also books the Twin Share option. If this is the case, there will be no single supplement charged to either of you. If we are unable to match you with another Twin Share traveler, there may be a single surcharge applied to cover the full cost of the rooms on some of our longer tours. Please enquire before finalizing your booking for full details.

How physically demanding is this tour? Are you able to accommodate people with mobility restrictions/limitations?

This tour has a low level of physical demand, although there may be some activities or sightseeing tours that require walking short distances. Please inquire if you have any mobility restrictions before completing your booking to ensure this tour is right for you.

How much luggage should I bring?

Each passenger may bring one large suitcase and one carry-on bag. The weight limit for this suitcase is 32 kilograms/60 pounds. Baggage handling is provided at the hotels in our tour packages. Please advise our reservations staff if you will be bringing additional items such as a cane, walker or wheelchair. You may also bring one small soft-sided carry-on bag, which should easily fit into the overhead shelf of the coach. Each person is responsible for his/her own carryon luggage. Remember to check your airline baggage restrictions if you are flying, as they may differ from Anderson Vacations Tours guidelines.

What is your recommended spending amount for non-included meals?

The suggested allowance for non-included meals is $40.00 — $60.00 CAD per day (includes tipping).

Can you accommodate passengers with dietary restrictions (food allergies, vegan, vegetarian etc.)?

Yes! There are many meals included on our fully escorted tours. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking so we can ensure there are alternative meal choices and arrangements made for you.

Are gratuities included in the tour cost?

For your convenience, gratuities for local guides and meals stated on the itinerary are included in the price of the tour. For meals not included in your tour package please remember that it is customary to tip your server 15-20% in North America. Gratuities for your Motorcoach Driver and Tour Director are left to your discretion. We recommend $4.00 - $5.00 CAD per person, per day for your Motorcoach Driver and $6.00 - $7.00 CAD per person, per day for your Tour Director. if you can't find your
