Today, we will drive to Quebec City. Following the St. Lawrence River, you will pass from city suburbs to the rural landscapes of forests and rich pastures, dotted with tiny villages that extend to Québec City, the oldest walled city in North America and the heart of the French-Canadian culture in Canada. Old Québec is a UNESCO designatedWorld Heritage City. Many Québec historic sites such as the Québec fortifications, Chateau Frontenac, Québec Citadel, Plains of Abraham, and Québec Île d'Orléans make up important landmarks of Old Québec City and the nearby region. Many different influences have shaped Québec’s history over the past 400 years – the First Nations, the French, the Acadians, the British, the Americans, the Germans, and the Irish, to name a few. There is a lot to discover here on foot.
Tonight, we will enjoy a dinner cruise in the heart of the St. Lawrence River, on the AML Cavalier Maxim! We will taste a 4-course table d’hôte prepared on board. Also, enjoy a breathtaking view of the metropolis and a festive evening on the dancefloor!

Today you discover Québec City (the Upper and Lower Towns) through its history, architecture, and culture. Visit the must-see walled city and the historic Lower Town, then travel outside the city walls to see Parliament Hill and the famous Plains of Abraham. You will walk through some pedestrian areas like the Dufferin Terrasse, around Chateau Frontenac, Place-Royale (birthplace of the city), and the Petit-Champlain borough. A visit to Montmorency Falls with a trip on a cable car across the falls will be our next adventure. Later, we’ll visit and explore the magnificent Saint-Anne-de Beaupre Shrine. For over 350 years people have gathered here to honor Saint Anne, the mother of Jesus. The Basilica is a masterpiece of stained-glass windows, stone, and wooden sculptures. We’ll be met here by our tour guide and begin the next part of our tour with a visit to the unique and historical Cuivres d’Art Albert Gilles Museum. The family keeps up the ancient art of copper etching and sculptures. Most of the massive copper doors that adorn Quebec churches were made here.
