Arrive in Winnipeg where you will enjoy a relaxing stay at the Inn at the Forks. A welcome dinner will be held at the hotel, where you will meet your group and your adventure specialist. You will need your rest for your early morning departure to Churchill.
This morning enjoy breakfast in the hotel before departing for the day to enjoy the City of Winnipeg. A guided tour of the Museum of Human rights, strives to build understanding, promote respect and encourage reflection and is the first museum solely dedicated to the evolution, celebration and future of human rights. This afternoon, a visit to the famous Assiniboine Park and a guide tour of The Leaf. You will journey through four distinct biomes; the Hartley and Heather Richardson Tropical Biome, the Mediterranean Biome, Babs Asper Display House, and the Shirley Richardson Butterfly Garden. Experience a stunning showcase of our diversity, expressed through plants that shape our lives here and across the globe.This evening enjoys a guided tour and learn of The Hermetic Code, for an unforgettable tour of magic, mystery and architectural wonder. Meet inside the Manitoba Legislative Building and begin to unlock mysteries of Canada’s most unique architectural landmark.Return to the hotel for a goodnights rest, as the morning flight is an early departure.
Today is the day! You will board an early morning flight to Churchill, Manitoba. Upon arrival, you will take a guided bus tour of local and historical points of interest surrounding Churchill, including the Polar Bear Holding Facility and Inukshuk. We take a break for lunch and enjoy a warm, home-cooked meal at one of Churchill's family-run restaurants. In the afternoon, you will visit the Itsanitaq Museum. The museum contains one of Canada's finest collections of Inuit carvings, kayaks, and artifacts dating from pre-Dorset, Dorset, Thule, and modern Inuit times. You will next visit Polar Bears International House, hear from a Polar Bears International representative and tour the centre to learn about polar bear research and climate change. Tonight, dinner will be enjoyed at a local restaurant.
This morning after breakfast, Experience an intimate encounter with a wild polar bear from an authentic Tundra Buggy. Tundra Buggies are furnished with dual-pane frost-free windows. Each day, we depart early and board our Tundra Buggies looking for polar bears and other wildlife out on the tundra. Enjoy picnic style lunches and refreshments while you are bear watching. This evening, enjoy a presentation from a local resident on the culture, history, wildlife and/or lifestyles of the Churchill area.
After enjoying breakfast, Hosted by a local resident and dog sledding expert, you will learn about Métis culture and the history of dog sledding in northern Canada. Enjoy an exhilarating ride behind a strong team of sled dogs on a custom-made sled or cart. Lunch at a local restaurant, before a walk back in time at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre viewing detailed and exciting wildlife dioramas and fur trade exhibits. Leave chock-full of natural and historical information about the Churchill region. End the day with a local dinner.
After another hearty breakfast it’s time to pack for the flight back to Churchill, not before have the opportunity to view wild polar bears from a Tundra Buggy on the final full-day adventure. Today guests will be be accompanied by a Polar Bears International species expert who will join guests on board for an in-depth discussion on polar bears and their habitat.Say good-byes and snap a few more pictures before meeting up with our expeditor and you will be transferred to the airport in preparation for your flight back to Winnipeg. Upon arrival, collect your bags, head out of the arrivals doors to be transferred to your overnight accommodations.
After a wonderful sleep full of polar bear dreams, you will enjoy breakfast at your hotel before your trip back home.
