THE JOURNEY BEGINS

  • Day 1: Depart from US border - Arrive in St. Stephen, Canada

    Starting from the US border drive onward into St. Stephen. Discover Canada's Chocolate Town, home of Ganong Bros Ltd., Canada's oldest candy company, and is the place to "Discover the Wonder of Chocolate". Follow the sweet history of this small-town community, which is also a border crossing from the US in the province. Take a walking tour of the town, through leafy streets where architecture and ambiance set the scene for a visit to the downtown Ganong Chocolatier candy shop. Enjoy a short drive out of town where you will find Ganong Nature Park, a 142-ha (350-acre) natural park, featuring a spectacular coastline that overlooks the St. Croix River. The park has woods, fields, many walking trails, and 73 ha (180 acres) of intertidal areas. Stroll the Riverfront Walking Trail along the scenic St. Croix River and watch for eagles overhead, you may even catch a glimpse of these mighty birds fishing.


  • Day 2: Drive to St. Andrews and to Saint John

    Arrive in St. Andrews, one of Canada's most beautiful seaside resorts. Perched on a peninsula jutting into the Bay of Fundy, St. Andrews is an equal parts resort town and adventure haven. Whale-watching is just the beginning. Visit Kingsbrae Gardens and see over 50,000 perennials in many themed gardens including the magnificent sculpture garden. The 27-acre Garden is home to alpacas, goats, peacocks, rabbits, and more. Kids can explore the cedar maze, playhouses, climbing castles, and experience the live ladybug release. Tour the Fundy Discovery Aquarium, which showcases creatures big and small found in the beautiful Bay of Fundy. See harbour seals through the windows of the underwater viewing area, and watch some of the sea creatures in the gigantic touch pool. Continue eastwards to Saint John, the largest city in the province of New Brunswick.

  • Day 3: Saint John

    Sitting along the Bay of Fundy, Saint John is filled with old-world charm, unique architecture, vibrant restaurants, and historic sights. Spend time exploring Saint John with a self guided city walking tour. At an hour and a half each, the self-guided Loyalist Trail, Victorian Stroll and Prince William Walk will take you through the history and landmarks associated with the city's earliest settlers, the post-Great Fire residential renaissance and the emergence of turn of the century grand commercial architecture. Pick up the brochure at a Visitor Information Centre. Later, visit the natural phenomenon of the Reversing Falls, a series of rapids and whirlpools on the Saint John River that empties into the Bay of Fundy. The extreme tides of the Bay of Fundy affect the river and reverse the flow of the current as the tides rise and fall. Spend time at leisure to enjoy the local eateries and markets.

  • Day 4: Drive to the New Brunswick capital city of Fredericton

    Fredericton, situated on the Saint John River, is a city full of history, art, and dining, with many restaurants, pubs, and cafés to discover. New Brunswick's riverfront capital, Fredericton is brimming with riverside trails and eclectic cuisine, all make this city a must-see. Arrive at Kings Landing Historical Settlement, a lively, authentic village, depicting the one hundred year transformation of a young colony into a vibrant nation. Enjoy a guided tour of the Historic Village and Museum, followed by free time to explore the 40 exhibits with over 70,000 artifacts showcased. Go paddling, boating and touring for a unique way to explore the sights along the city's idyllic riverfront.

  • Day 5: Fredericton to Moncton

    Today, make the beautiful drive from Fredericton to Monton. Travel through the Fundy National Park to the incredible Hopewell Rocks, home of the Flowerpots, peculiar rock formations that are shaped by tidal erosion and stand some 40-70 feet tall. These rocks are forested islands at high tide and resemble flowerpots at low tide.Visit the town of Shediac, known as the "Lobster Capital of the World", where you can see the World's Largest Lobster before you embark on a lobster cruise to learn about the lobster's fishery and enjoy a delicious meal onboard. Continue your journey to Moncton for your overnight.


  • Day 6: Hopewell Rocks and Moncton

    This morning, visit the world-famous Magnetic Hill, a natural phenomenon unique to this area, that completely defies the laws of gravity. Witness your own car coasting uphill with no power at all. iTour Moncton provides you with an energetic way to experience the city of Moncton's history. This self-guided heritage tour can be downloaded to your smartphone or tablet and is designed to optimize your view of each historic site while maintaining the most efficient route possible. By following the directions, you should be positioned across the street from the sites you will be learning about. iTour Moncton takes approximately 1 hour to complete.


  • Day 7: Return to Saint Stephen or US border

Our tours are suitable for all age demographics. The average age of travelers is typically 45+

There are options for single travelers to join most tours. Solo Travelers can choose to pay the single supplement and have their own room throughout the tour. For those willing to share, we also have a Twin Share option that is offered for the majority of our tours. This means you will be sharing the hotel rooms with another single, same gender traveller who also books the Twin Share option. If this is the case, there will be no single supplement charged to either of you. If we are unable to match you with another Twin Share traveler, there may be a single surcharge applied to cover the full cost of the rooms on some of our longer tours. Please enquire before finalizing your booking for full details.

This tour has a low level of physical demand, although there may be some activities or sightseeing tours that require walking short distances. Please inquire if you have any mobility restrictions before completing your booking to ensure this tour is right for you.

Each passenger may bring one large suitcase and one carry-on bag. The weight limit for this suitcase is 32 kilograms/60 pounds. Baggage handling is provided at the hotels in our tour packages. Please advise our reservations staff if you will be bringing additional items such as a cane, walker or wheelchair. You may also bring one small soft-sided carry-on bag, which should easily fit into the overhead shelf of the coach. Each person is responsible for his/her own carryon luggage. Remember to check your airline baggage restrictions if you are flying, as they may differ from Anderson Vacations Tours guidelines.

The suggested allowance for non-included meals is $40.00 — $60.00 CAD per day (includes tipping).

Yes! There are many meals included on our fully escorted tours. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking so we can ensure there are alternative meal choices and arrangements made for you.

For your convenience, gratuities for local guides and meals stated on the itinerary are included in the price of the tour. For meals not included in your tour package please remember that it is customary to tip your server 15-20% in North America. Gratuities for your Motorcoach Driver and Tour Director are left to your discretion.
