Day 1 - Arrive in Québec City

Arrive in Québec City, the heart of French Canada, where the St. Lawrence River’s scenic beauty meets rich history and culture. Known as the birthplace of French civilization in North America, Québec City welcomes you with its historic Old Town, charming cobblestone streets, and unique European charm. Wander through iconic sites like the Plains of Abraham, or take a stroll along the Dufferin Boardwalk with city lights glistening against the snowy winter landscape. Whether you’re exploring Old Québec’s cultural sites or relaxing with some local shopping, Québec City combines history, warmth, and hospitality in a beautiful winter setting. After arrival, make your way to your centrally located accommodation and spend the rest of the day exploring the city.

Day 2 - Drive to Baie-Saint-Paul & Culinary Tour

Check out and pick up your rental car for a scenic drive to Baie-Saint-Paul, a charming town about an hour away. Make a stop at Montmorency Falls, where you can admire the breathtaking, cascading water before continuing onward. Upon arriving in Baie-Saint-Paul, check into your centrally located hotel, then prepare for a culinary journey exploring Charlevoix’s local flavors with a guided food tour. Embark on a delicious journey through Charlevoix with a Bite-Sized Tasting Tours, an exploration of the region's culinary treasures in perfect bite-sized portions. Begin your culinary escapade with a short tour of the Laiterie Charlevoix facilities. Day 3 - Kayaking & Baie-Saint-Paul’s Art Scene

Start your day with a kayaking adventure along the Rivière du Gouffre, guided by Katabatik. Paddle through the river’s forested landscapes, winding your way through peaceful clay and sand valleys. The route takes you through Baie-Saint-Paul, with opportunities to stop at river beaches – perfect for a relaxing riverside picnic. Keep an eye out for Atlantic salmon and trout, as this area is a favorite among fishing enthusiasts.

In the afternoon, dive into Baie-Saint-Paul’s renowned arts scene, beginning at the Baie-Saint-Paul Museum of Contemporary Art, where local and international artists showcase unique works. Wander through the town’s many art galleries, or take a break at a cozy bistro. End your day with a visit to MicroBrasserie Charlevoix, where you’ll enjoy a guided tasting of local beers brewed with care over the past 25 years. Day 4 - Maritime Heritage & L’Isle-aux-Coudres

Check out of your hotel in Baie-Saint-Paul and make your way to St-Joseph-de-la-Rive. Here, immerse yourself in Charlevoix’s maritime heritage at the Musée Maritime de Charlevoix. This museum offers a vivid experience of the region’s seafaring past, featuring real ships to explore, interactive multimedia exhibits, and a high-tech captain’s skill challenge. Afterward, cross the road to the Papeterie Saint-Gilles Economuseum, a unique spot for learning about traditional papermaking. Founded by Monseigneur Félix-Antoine-Savard, this workshop produces durable, cotton-based artisanal paper and showcases the history of Quebec’s papermaking industry.After your museum visits, take the short ferry ride to L’Isle-aux-Coudres, a quaint island nestled in the St. Lawrence River. Day 5 - Drive to La Malbaie

 Enjoy a relaxed morning on L’Isle-aux-Coudres before taking the ferry back to the mainland. Continue your journey to La Malbaie, choosing between the scenic St. Lawrence route or the mountain route. Make a stop at La Chocolaterie du Village, where you can indulge in handmade chocolates, rich hot cocoa, and creamy Belgian chocolate-dipped ice cream. With over 50 varieties of chocolate, 24 types of fudge, and a selection of 27 hot chocolates, this is the perfect sweet treat stop.Upon arriving in La Malbaie, check into your river-view hotel and take a self-guided tour of Cité Mémoire Charlevoix. This outdoor art installation combines visuals, poetry, and music to celebrate Charlevoix’s history and heritage. Wander the town to find the four locations of interest, and as you take in these installations, you’ll enjoy a deeper connection to Charlevoix’s rich cultural past.

Day 6 - Whale Watching on the St Lawrence River

Prepare for an exciting day on the water as you drive to Baie-Sainte-Catherine Dock for a whale-watching tour with Croisières AML. The Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park is home to an incredible array of marine life, including minke, humpback, and beluga whales, as well as seals and porpoises. If you’re lucky, you may even spot a blue whale, the world’s largest animal. This half-day adventure offers a chance to witness these majestic creatures in their natural habitat, providing memories that will last a lifetime.

Day 7 - Return to Quebec City

After checking out, take the scenic two-hour drive back to Québec City, following the beautiful St. Lawrence River route. Reflect on the incredible experiences of the past week as you journey back, with your itinerary concluding upon returning your rental car in Québec City.

What is the average age of passengers for this tour?

Our tours are suitable for all age demographics. The average age of travelers is typically 45+

I am a solo traveler. Is there a single surcharge?

There are options for single travelers to join most tours. Solo Travelers can choose to pay the single supplement and have their own room throughout the tour. For those willing to share, we also have a Twin Share option that is offered for the majority of our tours. This means you will be sharing the hotel rooms with another single, same gender traveller who also books the Twin Share option. If this is the case, there will be no single supplement charged to either of you. If we are unable to match you with another Twin Share traveler, there may be a single surcharge applied to cover the full cost of the rooms on some of our longer tours. Please enquire before finalizing your booking for full details.

How physically demanding is this tour? Are you able to accommodate people with mobility restrictions/limitations?

This tour has a low level of physical demand, although there may be some activities or sightseeing tours that require walking short distances. Please inquire if you have any mobility restrictions before completing your booking to ensure this tour is right for you.

How much luggage should I bring?

Each passenger may bring one large suitcase and one carry-on bag. The weight limit for this suitcase is 32 kilograms/60 pounds. Baggage handling is provided at the hotels in our tour packages. Please advise our reservations staff if you will be bringing additional items such as a cane, walker or wheelchair. You may also bring one small soft-sided carry-on bag, which should easily fit into the overhead shelf of the coach. Each person is responsible for his/her own carryon luggage. Remember to check your airline baggage restrictions if you are flying, as they may differ from Anderson Vacations Tours guidelines.

What is your recommended spending amount for non-included meals?

The suggested allowance for non-included meals is $40.00 — $60.00 CAD per day (includes tipping).

Can you accommodate passengers with dietary restrictions (food allergies, vegan, vegetarian etc.)?

Yes! There are many meals included on our fully escorted tours. Please inform us of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking so we can ensure there are alternative meal choices and arrangements made for you.

Are gratuities included in the tour cost?

For your convenience, gratuities for local guides and meals stated on the itinerary are included in the price of the tour. For meals not included in your tour package please remember that it is customary to tip your server 15-20% in North America. Gratuities for your Motorcoach Driver and Tour Director are left to your discretion. We recommend $4.00 - $5.00 CAD per person, per day for your Motorcoach Driver and $6.00 - $7.00 CAD per person, per day for your Tour Director. if you can't find your
