Embark on a travel experience that will stay with you forever. We offer a blend of culture, adventure, and tranquility, ensuring every moment is filled with wonder. Whether you’re seeking thrill or relaxation, we create journeys that are truly unforgettable.
THE JOURNEY BEGINS
Arrive in Saskatoon, pick up your rental car and check into your hotel. Later, explore the city centre of Saskatoon on foot. There is a tremendous variety of craft breweries and boutique restaurants using fresh local ingredients in the city. Saskatchewan is, after all, the breadbasket of Canada and the city's food creators have infused local ingredients into their menus to create a wide and varied choice. The striking new Remai Modern museum sits on the riverbank with stunning views of the South Saskatchewan River and prairie skies. Spanning four levels, Remai Modern has 11 gallery spaces over three floors, learning studios, a theatre, restaurant, store, lounges, play areas and numerous multi-use spaces. Join an informative guided walk through the gallery.
This morning drive to Wanuskewin Heritage Park, a National Historic Site situated on Saskatoon’s northern edge. This Northern Plains Indigenous Interpretive Site is home to over 6,400 years of history and a truly unique cultural experience. The Heritage Park is a window into a part of Canada's history that remains little known, and a link to the past unlike any other National Historic Site in Canada. Wanuskewin's uniqueness is based on the composition of human habitation, hunting and gathering, and spirituality, all in one place. Virtually every ancient Indigenous group recognized across the Great Plains visited this location year-after-year and the result is a remarkably complete and intact record of cultural development in the region over that time span. The area contains some of the most exciting archaeological finds in North America, many of which pre-date the pyramids of Egypt. The archaeological resources of Wanuskewin are exceptional and among the finest examples of human occupation of the Great Plains of North America. Today, the site gives us the opportunity to delve into the past and discover what life was like for these nomadic hunter-gatherer peoples. During the summer months, Prairie Lily Sightseeing Cruises invites you to a one-hour evening sail through the heart of Saskatoon on the South Saskatchewan River. A narrated commentary provides information on the city’s sights and history. Drop off your rental car.
Depart Saskatoon early today by VIA Rail for the full day service to Winnipeg traversing the wide-open prairie landscape of central Canada. Note that you can choose between comfortable couch sitting, sleeper berth or private cabin accommodation for your daily journey and your travel agent will be happy to provide you with the different price options. Arrive in Winnipeg late evening and check into your hotel.
Pick up your rental car and explore the highlights of Winnipeg today including the Forks National Historic Site, the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Exchange District, St. Boniface and the French Quarter, the famous Assiniboine Park Zoo and finally, the Royal Canadian Mint. Get a feel of the Canadian sub-Arctic as you experience a journey to Churchill at the Assiniboine Park Zoo. With its 10-acre northern species exhibit, this well run attraction is home to polar bears, seals, muskoxen, Arctic fox, snowy owls, caribou, and wolves.
We strongly suggest a visit to the iconic Canadian Museum of Human Rights, the only museum entirely devoted to human rights for humanity. From the breathtaking architecture to the moving stories and captivating exhibitions and programs, every part of the Museum offers a unique encounter as you experience human rights stories from Canada and around the world. Later, visit the award-winning Manitoba Museum, renowned for the vivid portrayal of Manitoba's rich and diverse history, Planetarium shows, and Science Gallery exhibits. The Museum's collections reflect the heritage of Manitoba and other regions of the world and allow you to journey from north to south across Manitoba's vast and varied landscape, from the icy arctic coast to the windswept prairies. The Museum is also noted for its three-dimensional walk-through galleries including the Nonsuch, a full-size 17th-century sailing vessel, and the Urban Gallery, which takes you back in time to Winnipeg during the 1920s. The Manitoba Museum was the first Planetarium in Canada to offer visitors the Digistar' Five All-Dome digital projection technology.
