THE JOURNEY BEGINS

Customizable Itinerary

  • Day 1: Toronto

Arrive in Toronto and make your way to your city centre hotel accommodation.

  • Day 2: Toronto sightseeing

Join Toronto's original and most comprehensive fully narrated Hop-on Hop-off tour through the city, visiting the CN Tower, Skydome, Toronto Harbour front, Casa Loma Castle, the Eaton Centre, Hockey Hall of Fame and Yorkville. Included in your pass is an elevation ride to the top of the CN Tower and entrance to Ripley's Aquarium.

  • Day 3: Toronto to Algonquin Park

Drive 325 kms (3.5 hrs) to the northwestern section of Algonquin, the first Provincial Park in Ontario. Algonquin Park has a large variety of natural, cultural, and recreational features, and, as one of the largest provincial parks in Canada, offers something for nearly everyone.Located on Surprise Lake and 30 minutes from the any major road, the Algonquin Log Cabin is the ultimate wilderness retreat. Unlike the Park’s busy Highway 60 corridor, the only way into Algonquin Park from this corner is by foot or canoe. Up here there are fewer people in the pristine wilderness. The Algonquin Log Cabin is located off-the-grid and does not have electricity, which adds to its cozy and unique character. You meet for lunch at the Algonquin Log Cabin at the northwest corner of Algonquin Park. Learn to paddle a canoe followed by an interpretive hike of Kitchie Island. Choose to return to the Log Cabin to relax or continue your adventure by paddling around Surprise Lake. Wind down the afternoon with a cool drink on the sun deck, a dip in the lake, or unwind in the sauna. Feast on a gourmet, homecooked dinner followed by a night paddle in a 26-foot Voyageur Canoe, listening to the sounds of Algonquin.

    Overnight: Algonquin Park

  • Day 4: Full Day Algonquin Park

Morning hike to Lookout Bluff with a spectacular view overlooking the lakes of Algonquin. Return for lunch back at the Log Cabin and spend the afternoon relaxing, exploring Surprise Lake by canoe, swimming, fishing, or reading a book on the porch. Go for a late afternoon paddle to a scenic campfire point for sunset, bonfire and a cook-out dinner. After dinner, learn about the northern sky as you canoe under the stars back to the Log Cabin. As you dip your paddle in the fresh water, hike the less-travelled trails, listen to the uninterrupted sounds of nature, and relax in the comfort of this unique lodge, you will feel your city stress drain away.

    Overnight: Algonquin Park

  • Day 5: Algonquin to Toronto

Rise and shine for an amazing sunrise paddle through the morning mist. Search for moose or beaver lodges and take advantage of spectacular photography opportunities. Enjoy a cook-out maple syrup breakfast and then return to the Log Cabin for a Canadian-style BBQ lunch. Swim, sauna, and take in the pristine wilderness before departure. On the return you can choose to make a stop at the Algonquin Park Visitor Centre which opened in 1993 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Algonquin Provincial Park and the entire Ontario provincial park system. The Algonquin Park Visitor Centre has world class exhibits on the Park's natural and human history, a relaxing restaurant and an excellent bookstore. A theatre presentation sums up the Park story and then takes you out to the viewing deck from where you can admire a breathtaking panorama of wild Algonquin scenery. This diversion adds approximately 2 hrs to the return drive.
